UPA’s VP Candidate B. Sudershan Reddy Files Nomination

The INDIA bloc’s Vice Presidential candidate, Justice (retired) B. Sudershan Reddy, filed his nomination papers today. He submitted his nomination in the presence of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi.

The former Supreme Court judge began his career as an advocate in 1971 and practiced at the Andhra Pradesh High Court. He was appointed a high court judge in 1995 and later became the Chief Justice of the Guwahati High Court in 2005.

The eminent jurist was appointed as a Supreme Court judge in January 2007 and retired in July 2011. After retirement, he served as Goa’s first Lokayukta.

He will contest against National Democratic Alliance candidate C. P. Radhakrishnan in the September 9 election.
