Amit Shah Set to Present Important Bills in Parliament

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to introduce three bills today in the lower house of Parliament.

The Constitution (One Hundred and Thirtieth Amendment) Bill, 2025 will be introduced in the Lok Sabha. This bill proposes to introduce Section 5A to Article 239AA to address the removal of elected representatives.

The Government of Union Territories (Amendment) Bill, 2025 will also be introduced for discussion.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will further introduce the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, 2025 in the lower house. This bill seeks to amend the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019.

The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, 2025 will also be introduced. This bill aims to promote and regulate the online gaming sector, protecting individuals—especially youth and vulnerable populations—from the adverse social, economic, psychological, and privacy-related impacts of such games, while ensuring responsible use of digital technologies.

Additionally, the Indian Institutes of Management (Amendment) Bill, 2025 will be taken up for consideration and passing. This bill further amends the Indian Institutes of Management Act, 2017, as passed by the Lok Sabha.
