Heavy rain lashed several parts of Delhi-NCR today, causing traffic jams and waterlogging. The Indian Meteorological Department warned of more rain later in the day.
In most parts of Delhi, intense downpours were reported from early morning. Vehicles on road are waiting long to move. Delhi Jal Board Teams are trying to expel the water through motors.
Delhi Airport Authority has issued an advisory, which says:
“As per the Indian Meteorological Department’s forecast, Delhi is experiencing inclement weather conditions. Our on-ground teams are working diligently with all stakeholders to ensure your journey remains hassle-free.
Passengers are advised to consider alternative modes of transport, including the Delhi Metro, to reach the airport and avoid potential delays.”
IMD also shared a statement saying, “Delhi Radar shows intense rain bands over Delhi-NCR. Light to moderate rainfall recorded in most parts of the Delhi. Thunderstorm and lightning with heavy rain likely to occur over Delhi in next 2-3 hours.
