The National Sports Bill and the National Anti-Doping (Amendment) Bill were passed in the Lok Sabha today. Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya stated these bills have been introduced to improve sports infrastructure across the country.

He acknowledged that sports had not received adequate attention previously, which impacted India’s medal tally at the Olympics. Since Narendra Modi became Prime Minister in 2014, there has been increased focus on sports development.

In the Lok Sabha, TDP MP K.E. Shanavas from Vijayawada expressed support for the Sports Bill, calling it essential for enhancing sports infrastructure.
