Former Jharkhand CM Shibu Soren passes away at 81

Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren passed away in Delhi’s Sri Gangaram Hospital after a prolonged illness. He was 81. He was the patron founder of Jharkhand Mukhti Morcha (JMM) Party.

He was the leader of JMM for more than 38 years. The three-time Chief Minister of Jharkhand was a prominent tribal leader. He played the key role in Jharkhand’s statehood.

Hement Soren, CM of Jharkhand and son of Shibu Soren shared his father’s death on X, “Beloved Dishom Guruji has left us. I lost everything today,” he said.
