In a vibrant celebration of India’s ancient culinary heritage, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), in collaboration with the Ministry of Ayush, unveiled the first official list of ‘Ayurveda Aahara’ products on Saturday.
Rooted in the 2022 Ayurveda Aahara Regulations, the list draws from classical Ayurvedic texts and includes time-honored dishes such as Krishara (khichdi), Indarika (idli), and Kashaay (herbal tea). These foods are designed to enhance immunity, aid digestion, and maintain balance, aligning with natural and seasonal rhythms.
Union Minister Prataprao Jadhav endorsed the initiative, emphasizing its role in daily wellness and in advancing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of taking India’s traditional food culture global.
