Dangal: Wrestling Arrives at Dharamshala Dhummu Shah Fair

On the second day of the historic Dhummu Shah Fair, held at Dari in Dharamshala, a wrestling competition was inaugurated with traditional rituals and prayers at the Bharari Temple. Dharamshala Mayor Neenu Sharma graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

In her address, Mayor Neenu Sharma emphasized the critical importance of preserving the traditional character of fairs so that the younger generation remains connected to its cultural roots and traditions. She described the Dhummu Shah Fair as an ancient and significant event deeply intertwined with the faith of the people.

She noted that the sport of wrestling is bringing international recognition to India, and the organization of wrestling competitions at such fairs plays a pivotal role—not only in furthering this tradition but also in connecting the youth with their cultural heritage.

On this occasion, male and female wrestlers from Himachal Pradesh thoroughly entertained the audience with their powerful performances, displaying their exceptional talent in the matches.
