Asian Wrestling Championships: Indian Greco-Roman wrestlers win five medals in Bishkek

In Wrestling, Indian Greco-Roman wrestlers added three more medals to their tally at the Asian Wrestling Championships 2026 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, yesterday. Nitesh Siwach settled for silver, while Prince and Sachin Sahrawat got bronze.

The three medals meant Indian Greco-Roman wrestlers finished the continental championship with a rich haul of five medals.

Lalit Sehrawat had bagged the silver in the 55kg division, while Sunil Kumar took bronze in the 87kg on Tuesday.

The women’s freestyle competitions also kicked off yesterday. A total of 30 Indian wrestlers – 10 each for women’s, men’s freestyle and Greco-Roman categories – are competing at the continental championships.
