U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday agreed to a two-week ceasefire with Iran, less than two hours before his deadline for Tehran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump announced that he will suspend his threatened bombing of Iran’s energy infrastructure and bridges for two weeks.

In a post on Truth Social, he said it is conditional on Iran reopening the strait, calling it a double-sided ceasefire.

Trump stated that the U.S. has received a 10-point proposal from Iran and “believe it is a workable basis on which to negotiate.”

He also mentioned speaking to leaders in Pakistan, which has been a mediator between Washington and Tehran.
