Asian Boxing Championships: Eight Indian boxers reach finals

Indian boxers continued their good show at the Asian Boxing Championships in Mongolia, with eight athletes reaching the finals—two men and six women.

Suresh Vishvanath showcased his strong form, defeating Huthaifa Eshish of Jordan in the men’s 48kg semi-finals. Sachin Siwach also impressed with a 4-1 victory over Thailand’s Sakda Ruamtham in the 60kg category.

Among the women, Minakshi Hooda blanked Thailand’s Thipsatcha Yodwaree in the 48kg category, while Jaismine Lamboria progressed to the final after defeating Uzbekistan’s Nigina Uktamova in the 57kg category.

The remaining eight semifinalists, who lost their bouts, settled for bronze medals.
