In Jammu and Kashmir, the 270 kms long Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH44), connecting the Kashmir valley with the rest of the country has been again closed for vehicular traffic amid heavy landslide.
The Traffic on the National Highway has been suspended in both directions following a heavy landslide between Digdol and Khooni Nallah in Ramban district.
The traffic was earlier restored on the national highway in the morning today following clearance of landslides after 28 hours and over 400 strandred vehicles at different places were cleared on the highway.
The vehicular movement was stopped on the national highway on Sunday night as landslides and shooting stones blocked both tubes between Karol Bridge and Chanderkote.
SSP Traffic, National Highway Raja Aadil Hamid said, the  vehicular movement from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa has been stopped as the road remains completely blocked due to the landslide.
The SSP advised commuters not to undertake travel on NH44 until the highway is fully restored, warning that movement at this stage could pose risks.
He also urged people not to pay heed to rumours and to verify road status through official Traffic Police platforms, including social media handles and Traffic Control Units (TCUs).
