Home Minister Amit Shah campaigns in Nalbari, says to implement UCC

The Union Home Minister reached Nalbari today, where he campaigned for BJP-led alliance candidates in all three Assembly constituencies of the district. His visit has generated enthusiasm among party leaders and workers.

Addressing the gathering, Shah said that in the coming days, the BJP government in Assam will implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) and impose a ban on polygamy.

He further criticised the Congress for the unrest in Assam during the 80’s. He further said that in the past 10 years, the Narendra Modi led government brought peace to the state after signing several peace accords with militant groups.
