Maoists surrender to police and CRPF in Gadchiroli district

In a major breakthrough, 11 senior Maoists have surrendered before the police and the CRPF in the Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra. The group includes Maoists holding key positions such as Divisional Committee Members, Area Committee Secretaries, Commanders, and Area Committee Members. Surrendered Maoists were carrying a collective bounty of 68 lakh rupees.

Recently Home Minister Amit Shah urged the maoists for joining the mainstream, abjuring violence. He appeal them to surrender at the earliest. He had reiterated to resolve it with to eradication of Naxalism by 31st March 2026.
