External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar today held a meeting with Vice Foreign Minister of the Republic of Korea, Park Yoon-joo, in New Delhi.
In a social media post, Dr Jaishankar said that during the meeting, both sides had discussions on further initiatives and proposals to advance the Special Strategic Partnership between the two countries.
Earlier P. Kumaran, Secretary (East) held Consultation meeting with Park Yoon-joo. Both sides recalled recent discussions at the 6 India-ROK Foreign Policy and Security Dialogue (FPSD) held in Seoul in February 2026 and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen and deepen India-ROK Special Strategic Partnership.
The Consultations provided an opportunity to conduct a comprehensive review of the entire gamut of bilateral relations, in areas including political, economic, science and technology, defence and security, people-to-people ties and cultural cooperation.
Both sides agreed that the shipbuilding and maritime sector is a key priority in bilateral partnership. They further agreed to explore opportunities in new and emerging domains such as critical minerals, AI, digital technologies and sustainability.
Both sides also shared respective perspectives on regional and global issues of mutual interest.
