A total of 108 Maoists surrendered in Bastar, marking a major success in Chhattisgarh as they return to the mainstream.

Belonging to the Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee, these Maoists surrendered under the “Poona Margem” (Rehabilitation to Rejuvenation) initiative.

The government had announced a total reward of about ₹3.95 crore for information leading to their capture.

To eliminate Maoist presence in Bastar, India’s Home Minister Amit Shah has set a deadline of March 31, 2026.

Security forces and officials are continuously implementing various strategies. While some Maoists are neutralised through security operations, others are encouraged to surrender and rejoin mainstream society.
