The School Education Department Jammu and Kashmir has directed teachers in Udhampur to refrain from using mobile phones inside classrooms during teaching hours, stating that the practice negatively affects the teaching–learning process.
According to an official order issued by the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Udhampur on March 9, it has been observed that some teachers have been using mobile phones while teaching, which disrupts the academic environment and hampers effective classroom instruction.
In view of this, all Principals, Headmasters and Zonal Education Offices in the district have been directed to ensure that teachers do not use mobile phones inside classrooms during teaching hours.
The order further states that the concerned Principals, Headmasters and Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) must strictly monitor the implementation of these instructions in their respective institutions, clusters and zones.
The CEO’s office has warned that any violation of the directive will be viewed seriously and dealt with as per the rules.
