NATO air defence systems destroyed a ballistic missile launched from Iran and heading towards Turkey through Iraq and Syria.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday that Turkey is giving the necessary warnings so that the incident is not repeated, hours after Ankara said the missile launched from Iran had been intercepted by NATO air defence systems.
The debris of the NATO air defence missile fell on Turkish soil, the ministry said earlier. Turkey summoned the Iranian ambassador to Ankara to its foreign ministry on Wednesday to convey its protest and concerns over the ballistic missile fired from Iran.
