Nepal’s young generation of voters turned out in significant numbers during the recent elections, marking their presence as a decisive force in shaping the country’s future. After casting their ballots, many young voters expressed hopes for a corruption-free government and called for better education and accessible healthcare across the country.

“I’m really excited and eager to know the results. This time we have more educated candidates and some really good choices. I hope they win and make our country better,” said a young voter.

Another youth voter said people are hoping the new leadership will work to reduce corruption. “We cannot expect sudden change, but the least they can do is reduce corruption and focus on development in education and healthcare,” the voter said.

Nepal voted on Thursday to elect a new parliament in a high-stakes contest. The poll is the first general election in the country since youth protests in 2025.
