Gujarat: Govt. Approves ₹28.68 Cr. Projects to Boost Spiritual and Heritage Tourism

In a major boost to spiritual and heritage tourism, the state government of Gijarat, has approved development projects worth over 28.68 crore rupees in a single day. The project’s focus is on modernizing pilgrim facilities while preserving the state’s historical legacy.

A significant portion of the funding, amounting to 20.09 crore rupees, is dedicated to the holistic development of the famous Harshad Mata Temple.

In Junagadh, the historic Uparkot Fort will undergo the first phase of upgrades, featuring new parking facilities, a tourist centre, and the installation of two state-of-the-art lifts to enhance accessibility for visitors.

In a move to honor the freedom struggle, 3.36 crore rupees was granted for the restoration of the historic Gandhi Ashram in Godhra, established in 1917.

The government also ensured the cultural vibrancy of tribal regions by providing 1.25 crore rupees for the grand celebration of the traditional ‘Dang Darbar-2026’.
