Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today said that around 19 foreign universities are set to establish their campuses in India by the current academic year.
Addressing the Study in India Edu-Diplomatic Conclave 2026 in New Delhi, Pradhan said that Indian institutes are collaborating with global institutions in sectors like semiconductors, AI, biotech, critical minerals, agriculture and sustainable management.
The Education Minister welcomed students from foreign countries to study in India. He underlined that India is focusing on quality education, improving its position in the ranking system, and creating more economic opportunities for the youth.
Pradhan noted that the country’s strength lies in its youth, with 65 percent of the population being in the age group of thirty-five.
He added that India wants to create a knowledge bridge between different countries and civilizations and is also planning to create a developmental model for the global south.
