Kakinada Explosion: 21 Died in Andhra Pradesh Fireworks Factory

At least 21 people lost their lives in an explosion in a firewotks factory at Kakinada district of Andhra Pradesh today.

President Droupadi Murmu in a condolence message wrote on ‘X’: The news of the deaths of several people due to an explosion in a factory in Kakinada district of Andhra Pradesh is extremely heartbreaking. I express my deepest condolences to the bereaved families. I pray for the swift recovery of those injured in this accident.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also in a condolence message said, “Pained by the loss of lives in the explosion at a factory in Kakinada district of Andhra Pradesh. I extend my condolences to those who lost their loved ones. May the injured recover soon. An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000”.

Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge in his condolence statement said:

“My deepest condolences to the families of the victims and thoughts and prayers are with the injured.

Urge the State Govt to ensure immediate and adequate compensation to the victims. A thorough investigation should be ordered into this incident, and the guilty must be brought to book.”
