Mexico’s Puerto Vallarta’s Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport appeared unusually quiet on Monday amid heightened security following recent cartel-related violence in Jalisco state.

National Guard troops patrolled the terminals, while security personnel frisked travelers as operations slowly normalized. Airlines are gradually restoring service.

Air Canada has announced it will resume full flights to Puerto Vallarta from Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver on Tuesday, with Toronto-Guadalajara routes restarting Wednesday. Other carriers are following suit as authorities work to stabilize the region after widespread disruptions.
