Election Commission publishes final electoral roll of Kerala and Chhattisgarh

In Kerala, the final electoral roll has been published as part of the SIR. With the publication of the final voter list, the Special Intensive Revision process in the state has been completed. A total of 2,69,53,644 voters are included in the final voter list.

Voters can check whether their name is included in the electoral roll through the website of the Election Commission. The booth-level voter list available on the website of the Chief Electoral Officer, Kerala, can also be verified.

In Chhattisgarh also, the final publication of the electoral roll has been released today following the completion of the Special Intensive Revision. According to the updated list, a total of one crore 87 lakh 30 thousand 914 voters have been registered in the state.

Following the directions of the Election Commission of India, the Special Intensive Revision process commenced on the 27th of October last year and continued for nearly four months.

According to a press release issued by the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, prior to the publication of the draft roll, the total number of voters in the state stood at two crore 12 lakh 30 thousand 737. After the completion of the revision process, there has been a reduction of 24 lakh 99 thousand 823 voters.

Following the publication of the draft roll, the number of voters was one crore 84 lakh 95 thousand 920. Claims and objections received thereafter were disposed of till the 14th of February. In the final publication, the number of voters has increased by 2 lakh 34 thousand 994 compared to the draft roll.

During the Special Intensive Revision programme, the latest photographs received from voters have also been incorporated in the final electoral roll.

Among the districts, the highest number of voters – 13 lakh 93 thousand 967 – has been recorded in Raipur, while the lowest number – one lakh 54 thousand 539 – has been reported in Sukma district.

State Chief Electoral Officer Yashwant Kumar informed that during the revision process, more than 27 thousand Booth Level Officers carried out door-to-door distribution of enumeration forms and successfully completed verification and mapping of voters. Over 38 thousand Booth Level Agents and volunteers also actively participated in the process.
