Shivraj Singh Chouhan Participates to Mark Five Years of Daily Tree Plantation Pledge in Pusa

Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan led a special programme in Pusa, New Delhi, today to mark the completion of five years of his unique tree plantation pledge.

Padma Sri, Padma Bhushan, Anil Joshi; Public Speaker, Sadhvi Ritambhara, Sarla Singh Chouhan; DG, ICAR, Dr M L Jat; and Journalist Asutosh Kha were also present on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, Chouhan said, Environment is a subject, which can’t be tackled in one day. He appealed to the audiences to plant a sampling on their birthday or any function. “This should be a mass movement”, he added.

The event celebrated with the ‘green’ journey that he initiated on February 19, 2021.

On the occasion of Narmada Jayanti, he planted saplings of ‘Rudraksha’ and ‘Sal’ at Amarkantak and resolved to plant at least one sapling every day.

During the programme, key highlights of the campaign began as a personal resolve and evolving into a movement marked by public participation, environmental awareness, and social consciousness.

Farmers and Lakhpati Didi’s from different regions were also present on the occasion.
