Jual Oram addresses 23rd foundation day of National Commission for Scheduled Tribes

Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram today said that the government is working on programmes focused on eradicating diseases which affect tribal areas. Addressing the 23rd foundation day of the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes in New Delhi, Oram said the commission is working effectively for the rights of the tribal community.

The Minister highlighted that the commission is continuously helping the tribal people by addressing issues like land disputes. The Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to provide all the necessary support to the Commission.

The ceremony was also attended by Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Durgadas Uikey and Chairperson of the National Commission for the Scheduled Tribes Antar Singh Arya. Speaking on the occasion, Uikey said that the commission has contributed to reducing the cases of oppression of tribal people.
