Nepal’s Pashupatinath Temple Adorned for Mahashivratri

Preparations for the grand hindu festival have been completed at Pashupatinath temple in Nepal. More than 8 lakhs devotees are expected to visit on occasion of Mahashivratri.

This year the Mahashivaratri festival will be celebrated on February 15. A large number of pilgrims, mostly sadhus of different sects and saints from Nepal and India, throng the Pashupatinath Temple to pay homage to Lord Shiva during this festival.

The Guthi Sansthan and the Home Ministry of Nepal make necessary preparations to manage the crowd and accommodate the sadhus and saints during their stay.

Medical camps, drinking water arrangements and other facilities are to be provided during their stay festival when lakhs of domestic and foreign tourist visit the temple to witness the crowds faith.

The Guthi Sansthan have confirmed that all arrangements have been finalised for the festival that lasts for five days from February 13 to 17. More than 4000 Sadhus and saints are visiting Kathmandu, including thousand Naga Sadhus.

All necessary arrangements for services, worship, and the accommodation of sadhus and saints in the Pashupatinath Temple area and various places in Kathmandu during the festival have been completed.

Firewood, food, worship materials, and donation will be provided to saints staying in different temples and places in the Pashupatinath area.

Food is being served to the saints and sadhus on the temple premises free of cost through Annapurna Ashram, while firewood and food will also be supplied to the places like Ram Mandir, Bhashmeshwor, Nirmal, Mrigasthali Gorakhnath, Banakali, and Thapathali.
