India shwed a strong performance in the men’s hammer throw at the Abu Dhabi Masters, with Kishorakumar Chandira Mogan securing gold and Mohammad Ansar taking bronze in the 30+ age category.
Kishorakumar clinched the top position with a winning throw of 37.92 metres, while his compatriot Ansar earned third place on the podium at the international veterans athletics meet.
The gold medalist displayed consistency throughout the competition, recording valid throws before achieving his personal best of 37.92 metres.
The competition is taking place at the Open Masters Games Abu Dhabi — a sporting event that represents the first major masters multi-sport games to be hosted in West Asia.
Unlike traditional World Masters Games, which require athletes to meet qualification standards, the Abu Dhabi edition has adopted a fully inclusive “open” format.
The event welcomes competitors aged 30 and above regardless of ability or skill level, with no entry barriers. The eight-day games are scheduled to conclude on February 14.
