6.4 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Off Vanuatu Coast

A 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Vanuatu, a country in the Oceania today. Local residents described it as very big despite but no initial damage has been reported.

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said that the epicentre was about 50 kilometres west of the village of Port Olry, on the island of Espiritu Santo of the Pacific Basin.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre said that there is no risk of a tsunami because of the quake.
