The 64th convocation ceremony of the ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi will be held on 13 February, 2026 at the Bharat Ratna C. Subramaniam Hall of the National Agricultural Science Complex (NASC), Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan will be the chief guest of the convocation ceremony. Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-IARI informed this while addressing the media today in New Delhi.
Bhagirath Chaudhary, Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Ram Nath Thakur, Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare will be the guests of honor during the convocattion program.
Dr ML Jat, Secretary DARE and Director General Indian Council of Agricultural Research will also be present on the occasion.
Tomorrow 470 students, including 290 M.Sc./M. Tech. , 180 Ph.D. students , including 2 foreign students, will receive their degrees upon successful completion of their master’s and doctoral programs, respectively.
About IARI
The Graduate School, IARI, Delhi has the capacity in 26 disciplines of Master’s/Ph.D. UG programmes in B.Sc (Hons.) Agriculture is offered at IARI Assam and Jharkhand only.
The admissions to all academic programmes are based on an all-India level entrance examination. The international students are admitted through DARE and are exempted from the written test.
During the academic year 2025-26, a total of 594 students were admitted, including 114 students for under-graduate, 216 students for Masters and 265 students for doctoral programmes.
The Institute has received accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) of UGC valid for a period of five years (2023-2028) with ‘A’ Grade; as well as National Agricultural Education Accreditation Board (NAEAB) of ICAR for a period of five years i.e. 2025-2030 with a score of 3.64/4.00 equivalent to Grade A+.
