AI will be incorporated into India’s education from Class 3: Dharmendra Pradhan

Minister of Education, Dharmendra Pradhan today said the government is actively strengthening the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the education sector. He said this while addressing the Bharat Bodhan AI Conclave 2026 in the national capital.

He noted that work on AI in India’s education ecosystem is advancing at a rapid pace aAI will be incorporated into India’s education framework from Class 3 and that the country possesses a strong and abundant talent pool.

The Minister said that  through advanced research levels, not only as a subject of study, but also as a research theme, a model of innovation, and a communication strategy.

He said that Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi ji has given us a clarion call to make India AI-ready. He has also emphasised on the need for developing and deploying ethical, responsible and inclusive AI. India’s AI will be inclusive by design, interoperable by architecture and sovereign by capability.

Pradhan noted that we have to embed AI in education for empowering our students and supporting our teachers. Call upon all the stakeholders to build scalable, responsible, ethical, inclusive and India-centric sovereign AI models for transforming our education and realising the goal of Viksit Bharat.

The two-day conclave brings together academia, industry, policy makers, start-ups, innovators, scientific leadership and the skilling ecosystem for integratingAI in Edducation at scale and developing the ‘Bharat EduAI Stack’
