With India’s match against Pakistan set to be played as originally scheduled, travel costs for fans keen to watch the high-voltage encounter in Colombo on February 15 have risen unexpectedly.

Within minutes of confirmation that the match would go ahead, flight fares from India to Colombo nearly doubled. A Mumbai–Colombo–Mumbai round trip, which had been available at relatively affordable rates earlier, surged by almost ₹30,000, with prices reaching around ₹60,000. Similar fare levels were also seen on the Delhi–Colombo route.

The sudden increase in prices underlined the enormous interest in the India vs Pakistan clash among Indian fans, many of whom had been waiting due to uncertainty surrounding the match at this year’s tournament.

The day-night High-voltage arch-rivalry India-Pakistan match will be played at the Premadasa Stadium in Sri Lanka on 15 February, 2026.

The Government of Pakistan approved PCB for the match against India. Earlier the PCB had decided not to play the match and in that case Pakistan had to loose the points, India could have awarded the points.
