In the T20 World Cup Cricket, Co-hosts Sri Lanka will open their campaign against Ireland in Group B at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday. The Lankans will be eager to return to winning ways after three successive losses to England and a disappointing T20I tri-series in Pakistan last year.

Ireland will aim to improve on their poor showing at the 2024 T20 World Cup, where they failed to win any matches. In a group D match New Zealand beat Afganisthan by 5 wickets. Afghanisthan captain Rashid Khan won the toss and elected to bat. They scored 182 runs for the loss of 6 wickets, which chased down by Kiwis is just 17.5 overs lossing 5 wickets.

In another match Nepal is taking on England in a group C match.
