India beats USA by 29 runs in the opening encounter of the Men’s T20 World Cup Cricket

India beat USA in their opening encounter in the Men’s World Cup T2O cricket match today at the Wankhade stadium, Mumbai. India playing in the Group A, beat USA by 29 runs.

Captain of USA Monank Patel won the toss and elected to field first. India managed to get 161 runs in 20 overs , courtesy Captain Surya Kumar Yadav’s magnificent 84 runs in just 49 balls. At one stage India were 46/4 in 6 overs.

India lost four top order batsman in the powerplay. But Surya stands tall till the end and finished not out. Medium fast bowler Shadley van Schalkwyk of USA got 4-25 in in his 4 overs. The South African born bowler bowled cleverly and got the wickets of Ishan Kishan, Tilak Verma, Shivam Dubey, and Arshdeep Singh.

India tottering at 86-6 after 14 overs. Captain Surya Kumar Yadav and all-rounder Axar Patel gave respite with providing 41 runs for 7th wicket.

USA lost wickets in regular intervals. Shubham Ranjane and Sanjay Krishnamurthi scored 37 runs each. But as the splendid bowling by India saw USA difficult to chase 162 runs and could able to score 132 runs for 8 wickets.

Mohmmed Siraj got 3-26 figure and Arshdeep Singh and Axar Patel scalped 2 wickets each.
