Ukraine’s lead negotiator announced Wednesday that a second round of peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine mediated by the United States has begun in the United Arab Emirates.
Rustem Umerov posted on “X”Another round of negotiations has begun in Abu Dhabi,” the head of the Ukrainian delegation, , wrote on social media, adding Kyiv’s team was seeking “to achieve a just and lasting peace.”
Umerov said that teams would also meet in separate groups to discuss specific negotiation tracks and would then follow up with a joint meeting to synchronise positions.
The two-day trilateral meetings come after President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia attacked its energy infrastructure last week with a record number of ballistic missiles.
