The Himveer Wives Welfare Association (HWWA), an organization for the welfare of the families of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) today celebrated its 33rd Raising Day at 39 Bn ITBP, Greater Noida. The programme placed special emphasis on women empowerment and self-reliance.

The programme was graced by renowned actress Raveena Tandon as the Chief Guest. She appreciated the meaningful and sustained efforts of HWWA towards the welfare and empowerment of Himveer families.

Addressing the gathering, Bharati Kapur, President, HWWA, highlighted the wide-ranging welfare initiatives undertaken for Himveer families and outlined future plans.

She elaborated on the impact of Himanshi Outlets and Backers Shops established across Force formations, noting that these initiatives not only provide quality handicraft products and food items from remote border areas at affordable rates but also generate employment, curb migration and contribute to local economic growth.

She further informed that HWWA continues to organise various vocational training programmes for women members and children of Force families, leading to enhanced employment opportunities and skill development.

On the occasion, annual souvenir ‘Himshikha’—themed on Women Empowerment—was released in both physical and digital formats.

The souvenir features articles, editorials and poems by members and children, along with a comprehensive overview of HWWA’s activities carried out during the year.

The event was marked by an impressive performance by the ITBP Women Pipe Band and vibrant cultural presentations by HWWA members and their families.

Senior HWWA members, Force personnel and a large number of families were present on the occasion.
