Baramati Plane Crash: Maha Deputy CM Ajit Pawar and five others die; PM Condoles

Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra and NCP Chief Ajit Pawar and five others killed in an aircraft crash at Baramati district near Pune town today.

The accident occurred when the plane, the Learjet 45 was attempting to landing. The plane was operated by VSR.

According to the DGCA officials the plane crashed at approximately 8.45 am today at Baramati town in Maharashtra.

The other five people who were on board also died in the crash.

PM Narendra Modi sent a condolence message on social media ‘X’. He wrote:

“Shri Ajit Pawar ji was a people’s leader who had a strong bond with the people and a deep connection with the grassroots. He was widely respected as a hardworking personality who always remained at the forefront in the service of the people of Maharashtra. He had profound knowledge of administrative matters. His passion for the empowerment of the poor and the deprived was particularly noteworthy. His untimely demise is extremely shocking and deeply saddening. Heartfelt condolences to his family and countless admirers. Om Shanti.”
