Gp Capt Shubhanshu Shukla was awarded the Ashok Chakra, India’s highest peacetime gallantry award and Gp Capt Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair was awarded the prestigious Kirti Chakra, India’s second highest peacetime gallantry award.

The Indian Air Force congratulated Capt Shukla and Capt Nair on having these awards.

As India’s second astronaut, Capt Shukla’s achievement reflects exceptional operational excellence, mission readiness, rigorous discipline and highest standards of courage in service to the nation.

Capt Nair displayed his professional excellence and dedication in the rigorous training towards the India’s manned Space Mission. His mission readiness and service to the nation, is in line with the highest traditions of the IAF.
