Doda Road Accident: Ten Army Soldiers Killed, Ten Injured

In a tragic road accident, ten Indian Army soldiers lost their lives and ten others were seriously injured after an Army vehicle skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge in Doda district on Tuesday.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and conveyed heartfelt condolences to the families of the fallen soldiers. In a series of messages, the LG said the nation stands united with the bereaved families in this moment of grief.

He also directed senior officials to ensure the best possible medical treatment for the injured soldiers, who were airlifted to hospital facilities.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also mourned the tragic incident, offering condolences to the families of the deceased and wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.

He appreciated the swift rescue and evacuation efforts undertaken by the Army and local authorities, which helped provide immediate medical assistance.

Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh said he spoke to the Deputy Commissioner Doda to assess the situation and described the accident, which occurred on the Bhaderwah–Chamba road, as deeply shocking.

He informed that the injured soldiers have been shifted to Command Hospital, Udhampur, where all possible medical aid is being provided. The Minister also said he is in regular touch with hospital authorities for updates.

The tragic incident has cast a pall of gloom across the region, with leaders and citizens paying tribute to the bravery and supreme sacrifice of the fallen soldiers.
