Indian Cricket Team begins its final preparations for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 with a five-match T20 series against New Zealand, starting in Nagpur today.

After losing the ODI series 2–1, Team India, led by Suryakumar Yadav, will look to bounce back in the shortest format.

Speaking at a press conference Yadav informed Ishan Kishan will bat at no.3 in the line up. “As Tilak is not in the team Kishan is the management team to continue for the world cup, as he was in great touch in the domestic circuit”, he added.

New Zealand come in with confidence after achieving several firsts over the past year, including a Test series whitewash and their first-ever bilateral ODI series win in India. The visitors now aim to create another milestone in T20 cricket.
