NCC Cadets present the Annual Horse Show at Delhi Cantt

The NCC cadets, taking part in the Republic Day Camp (RDC) 2026 today presented the Annual Horse Show at 61 Cavalry Ground, Delhi Cantt. The RD Camp hosts National-level inter-directorate NCC equestrian competitions, culminating in a spectacular horse show.

A total of 40 boy and 20 girl cadets took part in the equestrian competition this year. The high-spirited and skilled cadets display their finesse through electrifying displays of tent pegging and show jumping during the horse show. DG NCC Lt General Virendra Vats and officiating DG Remount Veterinary Corps, Major General Balaji conferred awards to the winning cadets.

DG Vats highlighted that equestrian training inculcates coordination, strength, discipline, confidence, resilience and unyielding sportsmanship in cadets.

He lauded them for their exemplary riding prowess. He also praised the remarkable band performance by the cadets of Saint Francis De Sales School, Guwahati, NER Directorate.

Currently NCC has 20 riding units with 297 horses across 12 NCC directorates to provide cadets with opportunities to excel in equestrian.

The cadets undergo year-round rigorous training in the NCC Remount and Veterinary (R&V) units to acquire top-notch horse-riding skills.

These cadets have also won laurels in the sport outside NCC, including 08 gold, 10 silver and 07 bronze medals during regional equestrian competitions in the year 2025, having four cadets qualified for the Junior National Equestrian Championship.

The winners of the equestrian competitions were:

Best Rider (Boys): Corporal Sahasransh Singh (Delhi Directorate)

Best Rider (Girls): Under Officer Rajveer Kaur (Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh & Chandigarh Directorate)

Best Riders (Joint): Junior Under Officer D Vijayalakshmi (Andhra Pradesh & Telangana Directorate) and Sergeant Lovepreet Kaur (Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh & Chandigarh Directorate)

Best Rider Runner-up (Boys): Under Officer Yuvraj Singh Rathore (Rajasthan Directorate)

Dr Roop Jyoti Sharma Trophy: Under Officer Aditya Tiwari (Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh Directorate)

DG RVS Trophy: Corporal Sahasransh Singh (Delhi Directorate)
