The United States and allied forces carried out large-scale strikes against the Islamic State (ISIS) in Syria on Saturday.
The US Central Command, which oversees American military operations in the region, said the strikes targeted ISIS across Syria but did not provide specifics on the locations.
The operations were part of Operation Hawk-eye Strike, first announced by the Trump administration in December after an ISIS attack in Palmyra, central Syria, killed two US soldiers and a US civilian interpreter.
