European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Saturday said that Europe stands with Iranians amid mass protests, condemning the violent repression of demonstrators.
Von der Leyen said that the streets of Tehran, as well as cities worldwide, echo with the footsteps of Iranian women and men demanding freedom—freedom to speak, gather, travel, and live freely.
She added that those responsible for the crackdown will be remembered on the wrong side of history.
