To validate Standard Operatiing Procedure and demonstrate the robustness of the Coastal Security mechanism, Indian Coast Guard of North West Region conducted an Exercise Sagar Kavach on 06–07 Jan 26 along the 2,394 km coastline of Gujarat, Daman & Diu.
The exercise showcased seamless inter-agency coordination and heightened coastal security preparedness. A total of 17 agencies, one major port, 31 non-major ports and over 100 air and sea assets participated in the exercise.
Simulated seaward threat scenarios were effectively countered through joint efforts of ICG, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, Border Security Force, State Police, Maritime Police, Central Industrial Security Force, Customs, NSG.
