6.8 Magnitude Earthquake strikes Indonesia’s Talaud Islands

A strong 6.8 magnitude earthquake struck Talaud Islands of Indonesia, Grman Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) said. No immediate damage were reported.

But According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the quake was of 6.4 in richter scale.

BMKG of Indonesia reported the quake was of magnitude 7.1.

Loacal people in Manado in Sulawesi islands said the tremor felt strongly, but no casualties were reported.

Indonesia, which comes in the ring of fire, witnessed around 43,000 earthquake last year. But most of them were minor earthquakes.
