Colombian President Gustavo Petro on Sunday rejected threats from U.S. President Donald Trump, who accused him of being involved in drug trafficking.
The remarks came after U.S. forces attacked in Caracas early Saturday, bombing military targets in an attempt to remove Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro and assert Washington’s influence over the oil‑rich nation.
Speaking to reporters, Trump warned of possible military action against Colombia as well, calling the country “very sick” and accusing its leadership of producing and selling cocaine to the United States.
