At the rescue centre of Manas National Park in Assam three orphaned elephant calves—Pompi, Nageshwar and Lily—are being cared for daily.

The calves were separated from their mothers shortly after birth. Wildlife lovers are keen to know about their well-being. The three calves have now become a major attraction for visitors at the Manas National Park.

Assam’s Kaziranga is home to a large portion of India’s Asiatic elephants, with around 5,500 of the national total of 10,000.

Nestled in south of river Brahmaputra, Kaziranga National Park is a crucial habitat for Asian elephants, part of the “Big Four” species found there, alongside rhinos, tigers, and wild water buffalo.
