Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan was accorded a warm welcome with a Guard of Honour in Puducherry for his two-day maiden visit to the UT after assuming office.
During a civic reception, the Vice-President recalled Puducherry’s rich civilisational, cultural, and spiritual heritage, paying tribute to the great thinkers of the state.
The Vice-President inaugurated a housing project under the Smart Cities Mission and handed over keys to 216 beneficiaries, appreciating the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Housing for All’ and the Puducherry Government’s effective implementation.
He also unveiled the statue of Mahakavi Subramania Bharatiyar at the Bharatiyar Memorial, honouring the poet’s enduring contribution to Tamil literature and national awakening.
Additionally, he inaugurated the Senior Secondary Block of Petit Seminaire CBSE School, emphasising holistic, value-based education and urging students to contribute to the vision of a developed India by 2047.
