Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha attended and addressed the 11th Convocation Ceremony of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU)  today. On the occasion, LG Sinha also inaugurated the High-End Computing AI & Deep Learning Lab and accommodation facilities for married research scholars at the university campus.

Addressing students, faculty members and dignitaries, Sinha emphasized the urgent need to move away from outdated, rote-based learning systems and adopt modern, skill-oriented education frameworks aligned with the demands of a rapidly evolving global environment.

He highlighted that education must focus on innovation, critical thinking and practical skills to prepare students for future challenges.

The LG underscored the importance of reducing excessive curriculum load while prioritizing the development of adaptable and future-ready skills among students to meet emerging job market requirements.

He said institutions of higher learning must play a proactive role in nurturing talent capable of contributing to nation-building.

The event marked a significant milestone for SMVDU, reinforcing its commitment to academic excellence, advanced research and student welfare.
