India Celebrates Prakash Parv; President, PM Pay Tribute

India is celebrating Prakash Parv today, marking the birth anniversary of the tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji.

Guru Gobind Singh Ji was born in 1666 at Patna Sahib in Bihar and is one of the most respected spiritual leader of Sikhism.

In Bihar, special kirtan was held at Takhat Sri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib. Devotees gathered to offer prayers and listen to hymns from the Guru Granth Sahib.

The gurdwara was decorated for the occasion. Worshippers took part in devotional singing and remembered the teachings of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, which teaches courage, equality and selfless service.

President Droupadi Murmu extended warm greetings on the sacred occasion of the Prakash Purab.

She said Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji inspired people with courage and wisdom to live a righteous life. She noted that he united his followers to protect the ideals of justice and self-respect, even in the face of great adversity.

The President said Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji stood as a symbol of grace and sacrifice. She added that his teachings of unity, compassion and respect for all continue to guide humanity towards a harmonious society.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also paid tribute to Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji on the occasion of the sacred Parkash Utsav on today.

The Prime Minister said Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji remains an embodiment of courage, compassion and sacrifice.

He said his life and teachings inspire people to stand for truth, justice and righteousness, and to protect human dignity.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister said Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s vision continues to guide generations towards service and selfless duty. He also shared pictures from his visit earlier this year to Takhat Sri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib, where he had darshan of the Holy Jore Sahib of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji and Mata Sahib Kaur Ji.
