Prime Minister Narendra Modi today paid tribute on Veer Bal Diwas, remembering the supreme sacrifice of the Sahibzades and the unshakeable faith of Mata Gujri Ji.
Prime Minister Modi said the day symbolises courage, conviction and righteousness, and that the ideals of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji will continue to inspire generations.
The Prime Minister shared a post on X, writing, “Veer Baal Diwas is a day of reverence, dedicated to remembering the sacrifice of the brave Sahibzades. We recall the unshakeable faith of Mata Gujri Ji and the immortal teachings of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. This day is associated with courage, conviction and righteousness. Their lives and ideals will continue to motivate people for generations.”
Veer Bal Diwas is being observed today to honour the martyrdom of Baba Fateh Singh and Baba Zorawar Singh, the Sahibzades of the 10th Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji. In January 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that December 26 would be observed as Veer Bal Diwas, making it India’s first national day dedicated to honouring the courage and sacrifices of children.
